Every follower of Jesus starts as a spiritual newborn. Nobody expects a baby to run a marathon on day one. Growth takes time, and that's not just okay - it's how God designed it.
Here's what to expect in this season:
Some days will feel amazing. You'll sense God's presence, things will click, and you'll feel genuine peace.
Some days will feel ordinary - or even hard. That doesn't mean something went wrong. Faith is a relationship, not just a feeling.
You will make mistakes. Every believer does. When you do, simply come back to God, be honest with Him, and keep going. His grace doesn't have an expiry date.
"He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion." Philippians 1:6 - He started this. He will finish it. Your job is to stay close.
Sometimes the word salvation can feel big and churchy. Here's what it actually means in plain language:
Before today, every human being - no exceptions - has made choices that separate them from God. The Bible calls this sin. It's not just about big mistakes; it's the natural tendency to live life on our own terms, apart from God. The result of that separation is spiritual death - an emptiness inside, and ultimately a life cut off from God forever.
But God didn't leave it there.
He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live the perfect life we couldn't live, and to die in our place - taking the penalty for every wrong thing we've ever done. Three days later, Jesus rose from the dead. That resurrection is proof that death doesn't have the final word.
When you put your faith in Jesus, something real happened:
Your sins are forgiven - completely, permanently
You are made right with God - not because of anything you did, but because of what Jesus did
God's Spirit now lives inside you - you are never alone again
You have eternal life - a relationship with God that starts now and never ends
This is called being born again (John 3:3). You are a new creation. The old is gone. The new has come.

Thank Him for one specific thing - big or small

Listen - sit quietly for a moment and let Him speak through your thoughts, Scripture, or a quiet sense of peace
That's it. There's no formula. Just show up and talk.

Serve others and discover the gifts God has placed in you

Teaches the Bible as God's true and authoritative Word
Preaches Jesus - His death, resurrection, and lordship - clearly and regularly
Welcomes questions - no one should make you feel stupid for not knowing things yet
Has genuine community - people who actually do life together, not just Sunday strangers
Encourages baptism for new believers (it's one of Jesus' first instructions - Matthew 28:19)
Practical tip: Visit 2-3 churches in your area after praying. When you find one where the Bible is preached and you feel welcomed - plant yourself and stay.
